It is never too late to learn but oh how I wish I had learnt this earlier. Imagine how much I could have saved/invested by now if I had started automating when I was 20. It doesn't matter how much you put aside into each of these categories - as long as you do it. Automate and be consistent with your monthly payments. Let time, patience and compound interest work hard for our children. They have lots of time. We are doing our bit with their financial education. We have either learnt patience or we are currently learning patience and our children will learn this skill from us. Compound Interest will happen.
