The Seventh National Eucharistic Congress was held in Cleveland, Ohio, from September 23-27, 1935, and drew over 500,000 Catholics from around the United States over the four-day event. The congress was one of a series of such meetings held by the Roman Catholic Church to increase devotion to Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist. Specifically, this Universal Newsreel clip shows that early on September 26, 1935, a flowing river of 200,000 devout men and women poured into the great bowl of the Municipal Stadium. This was a striking testimony to the religious fervor kindled by the seventh National Eucharistic Congress.
