The Outfield are one my my favorite all-time bands! I always wanted my drums to sound like Alan Jackman's drums when I was young (I think I'm finally pretty close). The toms and snare always sounded so good to me. His drumming probably influenced me more than anyone else at that time. Snare/crash and China/Snare combo's are something I still do today in lots of my covers. The Outfield are a terribly underrated band in my opinion.....especially for a 3 piece. Great musicians and amazing vocals. Tony (bass/vocals) and John (guitar/vocals) have left life's stage.....but glad to know Alan is still alive.
'Since You've Been Gone' was on the album 'Bangin' (1987). This album is my favorite by them (and a top ten favorite album period). Bangin has several radio worthy songs - worth a listen.
