Visiting Kastoria, a picturesque town in northern Greece that sits next to a pretty lake and tucked away in the mountains of western Macedonia.

Kastoria has a rich history as a hub for the fur trade, which is so central to this town's existence that it is actually known as "The City of Fur Traders".
Since the heyday of the fur trade has long past, the city is no longer as wealthy as it once was, but evidence of the fur trade is still very obvious as there are fur shops all around. That and tourism, primarily domestic winter tourism, are the main drivers of the local economy today.

Let's take a walk around Kastoria to see what it has to offer, and eat some good local food while we're at it.
