I feel its incredibly important to support all of the subsystems in your car, not just the obvious ones and overall cooling is critical. The S55 charge cooler system is really good, but can be dramatically improved with the charge cooler **AND** heat exchanger from CSF.
You can do them separately, but not only would that be twice the work, you wouldn't see the full benefits of the system itself. A larger more robust cooling system will help sustain your car through longer pulls, dyno days or those days up in the mountain or coast twisties. I also believe improved subsystems help support the car even better as we tune and increase power and torque (and heat!).
The job really isn't that hard, and only takes a few simple tools and some time to get the job done.
This is a critical job to help support your motor and performance goals.
Required parts and tools:
CSF charge cooler and heat exchanger (GET BOTH!)

16mm, 13mm, 10mm, 8mm, 6mm sockets and wrench
T45, T30 sockets
E10 socket
Screwdriver
pick tools
plyers
2gal of BMW (blue) coolant
Funnel (small neck and flexible is nice!)
Torque wrench
trickle charger
Quickjack or jack and 2 jack stands
