You cannot be lazy and expect your wig to smell fresh!
I was sent a wig cap deodorant called Wig Fresh and figured I might as well go over the common reasons why your wig might be stinky.

Wig Fresh ($7.99) is a wig cap deodorant that uses ethanol (found in most hand sanitizers) and zinc ricinoleate (a deodorizer that is derived from Castor Oil) to kill odor causing bacteria, trap odor molecules and add a pleasant scent. I didn't say it properly in the video.
There are 6 fragrances : Almond and Coconut Milk, Coco Chanel, Egyptian Musk, Mango Madness, Pink Sugar, and Sweet Pea.

TIMELINE:
01:06 Wash your natural hair! Maintain clean hair when protective styling because the smell from your hair can easily go through your breathable, mesh wig cap.
02:03 Keep clean hair scarves, bonnets, linens, towels, wig caps, and ANYTHING else that will touch your hair. Silk notoriously holds on to bad odors, so be mindful of the fabrics that you use and how odoriferous they are. They could bring the smell back to you! Also, you're trapping air and sweat in there, why add unnecessary dirt and odor?
03:31 Wash you wig...and when I say "wash your wig," I mean DEEP CLEAN your wig. Wash your wig, wash the lace, leave no traces of makeup, edge control, got2b glued, ghost bond, mousse, or whatever else it is that you use behind. A half clean wig is just attracting problems.
04:25 Wig Fresh Wig cap deodorant is a good solution in between washes and it makes your wig smell yummy. Just a few sprays are enough and it works best when you spray your cap before bed.
06:42 Always hang up your wig at night, do not keep got2b glued in for days at a time, and make sure your hair is DRY before storage. Avoid moisture at all costs.
