First performed in February, 2020 this MSO commission by revered Australian composer Deborah Cheetham AO, titled "Dutala, star filled sky", was created in response to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.

Written for symphony orchestra and chorus, Cheetham draws on the soaring emotions and spirit of Beethoven’s work to complement the classic in original and innovative style.

This performance also opens with Deborah Cheetham's musical Acknowledgement of Country.
