The Vietnamese Friendship Association's (VFA) Job Readiness Training (JRT) Program supports participants in developing their job readiness skills, making academic progress, increasing their understanding of career and post-secondary options and building skills needed to be self-sufficient and successful in school and work.
Each year, the program creates a group project that supports a community need and this year's cohort decided to make a "Where are they now?" style short film that follows the journeys of students who previously participated in VFA's Job Readiness Training Program.
The students wanted to use this video not only as an advocacy tool to ensure future funding for this program, but to inspire other newcomers that though moving to the United State is tough, there are many opportunities that can open with patience, resilience, and hard work.
