RUST ON METAL ROOF

In this video I’m going to talk about rust.

So, in the first photo you see standard surface rust on a roof. But, what I want to talk about today is the rust that you can’t see.

In this photo that you see behind me, we’ve just pulled out the top sheets of a roof. The sheets that was sitting underneath shows a large amount of rust. This rust isn’t visible from the top, you have to pull out the sheets to see it.

The next shot is a similar situation, we’ve pulled up the flashing. When we pulled up the flashing, you can see the rust that occurring underneath. Now, when standing on the roof and looking at it before we pulled up this flashing, you could see no rust.

This is why sometimes to really find out whether there’s rust in the roof, you have to pull up flashing, you have to pull up sheets and you have to have a proper look.
