Welcome to my channel: This video is a complete tutorial of how to hypertune a Celestron CGEM II mount. This procedure will also be very similar on EQ mounts. I will be repairing stripped bolt holes, replacing both motors, replacing bearings and hypertuning this mount for peak performance. You can do it too! This is a lengthy project so set aside a fair bit of time so you're not rushing. I did mine over the course of 2-3 days. It was time well spent. This mounts performance is outstanding now. I will also be including some tips/tricks to make other improvements as well. To keep your mount operating at its best, I recommend cleaning and regreasing everything every 3-5 yrs as preventative maintenance. Once you have brass wheel gear sanded/polished so that it fits perfectly, having to repolish and regrease parts will be a breeze for the maintenance aspect. Sanding is the worst part in my opinion and being able to skip that step will make it a more enjoyable process. Taking your mount apart for the first time may prove somewhat difficult with stuck or stripped nuts/grub screws, its common so fight through it. You'll get it. Thanks for watching.
