In today’s video I discuss the steps that you can take in your bermuda lawn to help it recover from damage caused by drought and heat stress. This has been an especially hard summer for the fine folks of Texas, due to extreme heat and virtually zero precipitation for months at a time. Luckily, your bermuda lawn hasn’t actually died, but rather it’s gone dormant. Summer dormancy takes place when your turf is under extreme stress, and is actually a defense mechanism the grass uses to focus its energy beneath the soil. The good news is that as soon as you start getting water again, your lawn will begin to green up. Water is the main ingredient in transforming your crispy lawn. Once you’ve got the watering down, and your yard begins to green up, it’s time to think about scalping (to remove the dormant grass) and fertilizing (to push new growth). Once you start noticing new growth after your scalp you’ll need to stay consistent with your mowing schedule. #lawninsider #crispylawn #bermudagrass #uglylawn #lawnfix
