As Karnataka politics heated up over a Vokkaliga seer’s demand to replace Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with DK Shivakumar, Ahinda (backward classes) activists in the state declared their support for Siddaramaiah and stated they would launch statewide protests if any such move is initiated.
Siddaramaiah is the face and a strategist of the Ahinda movement, which stands for Alpasankhyataru (Minorities), Hindulidavaru (Backward Classes), and Dalitaru (Dalits).
