On April 20, a hybrid solar eclipse will cast its shadow on Earth. They are rare – only about 5% of solar eclipses are hybrid events. Solar eclipses come in three types: partial, annular, and total. But a hybrid eclipse is a combination, where the eclipse appears as one of the three types at different locations on Earth due to the curvature of the planet.
The eclipse on April 20 will only be visible from parts of Australia, Indonesia, and several islands in the Pacific. Hybrid eclipses occur only a few times per century. The next hybrid solar eclipse will be on November 14th, 2031, visible as a partial solar eclipse in parts of North America.
