Bunaken National Park in North Sulawesi - Indonesia is home to an enormous biodiversity and has one of the highest fish species counts in the whole world. This is not surprising as it is located in the heart of the Coral Triangle.
This video focuses mainly on the common reef fish found on the walls and in the shallow coral gardens that surround all of the islands in national park. While scuba diving you can see all these amazing fish. Most of this is shot around Bunaken Island, the main island in the park. The schooling Chevron Barracuda's are found at Mantehage island and the Whale shark in the end was shot in the blue water as it was passing through the park. Whale sharks are not commonly found in the park and divers have to be very lucky to see one. Usually each year a handful of sightings are reported.
Scuba divers & snorkelers from all over the world come to visit this amazing marine national park, the 1st of its kind in Indonesia when it was founded. Nowadays many marine national parks exists throughout the Indonesian Archipelago and they are all created with Bunaken National Park as the example.
