What is Hidradenitis Suppurativa (H.S.) and how to manage it with Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
H.S. is an autoimmune condition where the apocrine (sweat) glands get inflamed and clogged. It causes painful swelling under the skin (think ingrown hair), which leads to open wounds, ulcers, fibrosis, and a host of other issues. These swollen nodules/ lesions are normally found on the body directly over the lymphatic pathways (armpits, groin, chest, back, etc.)
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage gets the body to reabsorb the swelling, clearing out the built-up, stagnant fluid that's causing painful pressure, wounds, leaking fluid, skin folds, and fibrosis.
H.S. can be caused by genetics, hormonal imbalance, and other factors that trigger constant inflammation.
