Ever since the reports about Jonathan Majors emerged a while back, many fans have been speculating whether Doctor Doom will replace Kang the Conqueror as the main antagonist of the Multiverse Saga in the MCU, particularly at the conclusion of either Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars. In order to set up this storyline, a build-up would be necessary, either through a Fantastic Four movie or another Marvel project. Secret Wars is expected to serve as the entry point for the introduction of mutant characters and the X-Men.
