Bright and beautiful autumn walk in the park of gorgeous castle and old town of Pszczyna situated in Silesian Voivodeship near Katowice, Poland.
Pszczyna Castle - actually a classical-style palace in Upper Silesia, Poland. Unlike many other castles and palaces in Silesia, destroyed by the actions of World War II and immediately afterwards, about 80% of original furnishing of the interiors from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries were preserved in the castle, which makes it one of the most valuable monuments of residential architecture in Poland today.
Together with a historic English-style landscape park of 156 hectares, it forms a palace and park complex.
Pszczyna Castle was a residence of Silesian and Polish Piast (the first historical ruling dynasty of Poland) nobles. Then it was a residence of German von Promnitz noble and later the German von Pless family. Between 1914 and 1917 the Pszczyna castle resided an Emperor’s Headquarters and the General Stuff of the German Army making military decisions changing the history of Europe.
Now it is one of the most beautiful castle residences in Poland.
