The Tuskegee Airmen achieved excellence while defending our country during WWII, exhibiting an extraordinary will and determination to do so while fighting two wars: one against the enemy and one against abject racism and segregation.
Over the course of the war, they flew 1,578 missions, destroyed 261 enemy aircraft, and won more than 850 medals.
The New England Air Museum is honored to be creating a new permanent exhibit: The Tuskegee Airmen: Their Untold Stories. Through first-hand stories told by the children, grandchildren, and friends about their parent’s war and post-war experiences, visitors will have the rare opportunity to get to know the individual Airmen in a uniquely personal way.
Only by knowing our past can we create a better future. Join us in bringing their story to life!
