James Fisher talks to Simon Shawcross, founder of HITuni, about what intensity is and why % of a one rep maximum is not an accurate measure of intensity or effort. James goes on explain how the intensity in High Intensity Training equates to effort and that when a trainee reaches momentary failure in an exercise they are the point of maximal effort. He expands on the importance of momentary failure in a single-set approach, particularly with advanced trainees.
