VR 360 biking video of the 2021 NYC Summer Streets. This event was awesome! Free and clear of all vehicles on this 7 mile route. This event have been rebooted since the last year's cancellation due to the pandemic. I brought along Choco for this ride which starts from Empire Fulton Ferry park, cross the Brooklyn Bridge, up Park Ave, and end up at Central Park. Met some awesome guys, Des Santana and Nelson with a very cool elliptical bike.
Choco got a cool photoshoot from photographer Dez Santana Photography.

This is possibly my last bike ride on the Brooklyn Bridge walkway with it's amazing view! I'm sure going to miss it, but I won't miss dodging all the people there. The city is building a new bike lane over an existing car lane. Once the new bike lane is open, the Brooklyn bridge promenade will be pedestrian-only. So bike there now if you can!!

About Summer Streets
Summer Streets is an annual celebration of New York City’s most valuable public space—our streets. On two consecutive Saturdays this August, nearly seven miles of NYC's streets are open for people to play, run, walk and bike. Summer Streets reclaims and transforms streets into active and attractive public spaces, providing safe recreational cycling and walking routes in the heart of Manhattan.
Summer Streets encourages the use of sustainable forms of transportation, reducing traffic congestion, air pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions during the event. Without the congestion of cars, participants experience the built environment from new perspectives. Free event programming allows participants to experience the rich and varied arts and cultural resources of New York City.
Summer Streets is modeled on other events from around the world including Ciclovía in Bogotá, Colombia and the Paris Plage in France, and has since inspired other such events around the world such as CicloRecreoVía and London's Regent Street Summer Streets.
Held between 7 am and 1 pm, Summer Streets extends from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park, along Park Avenue and connecting streets. With easy access from all points in New York City, participants may plan a trip as long or short as they wish. All activities at Summer Streets are free of charge, and designed for people of all ages and ability levels to share the streets respectfully.
Summer Streets is a project of the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT).
