Following an exit poll indicating that Britain's Labour Party is set to win a massive majority in the country’s parliamentary election, it could be in power for 10 or more years, says Paul Whiteley, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Government at University of Essex. Noting that exit polls have been “pretty accurate” in the past, he tells CNA’s Asia First on Friday (Jul 5) that the scale of the party’s victory is similar to its previous win in 1997, after which it stayed in power for 13 years.
