“I am very happy to share the speech of Democratic Republic of Congo First Lady & Ambassador of Merck More Than a Mother, H.E. Madam DENISE NYAKERU TSHISEKEDI, from the 9th Edition of Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary – 2022.
She expressed, "I am honored to be a part of the 9th Edition of Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary, and to meet my dear sisters the First Ladies of Africa and also Merck Foundation Chairman & CEO. I would also like to greatly acknowledge our valuable partnership with Merck Foundation that we started in 2020, and in a very short time, we have together achieved a lot.
Our partnership with Merck Foundation started during the COVID pandemic, and that was the time that made us realize the importance of strengthening the healthcare capacity and training our local doctors. Therefore, I am very happy that Merck Foundation has been supporting and helping us to transform patient care by providing scholarships to our young doctors and nurses.
I am Proud to share with you that Merck Foundation have provided 77 scholarships have been provided to our doctors so far in the fields of Oncology, Fertility, Embryology, and Diabetes.”
