We've had our chicken composting system up since June of 2015, and it's still always evolving and shifting as time goes on. I'm sharing notes here on some minor adjustments and refinements to our layout and flow and specifically reminding folks that may be interested in incorporating a system like this that it is by no means 'all or nothing'. You can have layer pellets, whatever feeding system you have AND begin experimenting with incorporating food scraps and bulk carbon, in whatever configuration you'd like. Any time you make a change to your layout and design there is an opportunity for your chickens have a great pulse of worms, pill bugs, etc. It's low risk and win win!
