St John WA has been helping Western Australians in need for 125 years and we remain committed to providing the best support and health care possible.
The unprecedented crisis we face today is one of the most challenging times our community has experienced in more than 100 years.
The rapid spread of COVID-19 is forcing us to take strict measures to slow the rate of infection and reduce the inevitable stress on our health services. Self-isolation, in addition to enhanced personal hygiene, cleaning, social distancing and restrictions to mass gatherings and travel are small steps we can all take that will have a big impact.
St John has been working closely with health authorities since the first cases of coronavirus were reported in Western Australia. Our priority throughout this crisis is to keep our people protected and healthy while doing everything we can to continue to provide critical health services to support the community.
As we have seen, announcements are being made regularly and advice is changing rapidly to counter the spread of COVID-19. Unfortunately this means altering the way we operate to reflect the latest advice from national and State health bodies.
Already at St John we have put new measures in place for our first aid training, event health services and patient transfer as well as screening processes for our GP, Dental and Urgent Care clinics.
At St John we remain however committed to serving the community - and I know that if we act together as a community we have the capacity to help each other through this crisis.
