- aim was to construct submarines
- was built from 1943 until march 1945 (~95% finished), construction was discontinued because of several bombings
- one month later in April 1945 production of submarines should have begun
- partially destroyed because of the war (you can see the impacts of missiles on the roof in the video)
- constructed using forced labour (10.000-12.000 people), with lots of deaths (~2.000-6.000 people)
- with 35.375 m² the biggest bunker in Germany and second biggest bunker in Europe
- 415 meters long (longest building in Bremen), 67-97 meter wide and ~22 meter high, with 7 meter thick beton ceilings and 4,5 meter thick walls
- built with 1 million tons of sand & gravel, 132.000 tons of cement and 20.000 tons of steel
- today it is a memorial site that can be visited
