When we visited Venice, we dedicated ONE WHOLE DAY to taking a boat to the three known islands of Venice, Murano, Burano, and Torcello.
This trip was definitely well worth it. We paid €20 for an all day pass for the boat. This was the perfect way for us to see the three islands at our own leisure.
Murano is the famous island known for its glass craftsmanship and the factories that to this day work their magic and created breathtaking pieces.
Burano is the island known for the intricate lacework and their production that exports around the world. They’re also known for the beautiful and colorful houses lining the streets.
Last, but not least, is Torcello. Not as famous as the other two, but definitely just as beautiful and historical. You’ll take a relaxing walk and visit the Devil’s Bridge (Ponte Del Diavlo) or visit the seventh century built Cathedral of Santa Dell’Assunta.
Visiting all three islands is day trip worth taking. If you’re tired of the hustle and bustle of Venice and feeling a bit overcrowded in the narrow passageways, then we highly recommend this trip.
