Bubbles at the free surface of pure, volatile liquids display surprising stability despite a lack of surfactants at their interface. Here we investigate these bubbles and explain a mechanism which may be responsible for their persistance without rupture. Featured music:"Prelude in D♭ major 'Raindrop'" performed by Thomas B.
