Houston police have released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 3933 Broadway about 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday (February 22).
The suspect (shooter) is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slim build.
The surveillance video is of a robbery at a different Subway restaurantat 4807 San Jacinto about two hours later (10:50 p.m.) on the same evening (February 22).
The victim, Javier Flores, 18, of Houston, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Crowder and A. Vinogradov reported:
Two male suspects entered the Subway restaurant at the above address and held an employee (Mr. Flores' mother) at gunpoint. As Flores tried to intervene during the robbery, he was shot. The suspects then fled the scene. HFD paramedics transported Flores to the hospital.
The suspects are described only as two black males, believed to be 16 to 20 years of age, and driving in a tan or gold four-door sedan, possibly an early 2000s model Mazda Protege.
