In Hungary's capital Budapest, tens of thousands of people marched in support of the government on Saturday in a so-called "peace march."
The rally comes as elections loom large eight days away.
The interior Ministry said 450,000 people took part; the local media estimated 100,000.
One supporter said: "the government did a lot of good things over the last four years, so we stand behind the government and we want them to continue, for the good of our children."
