In this new episode of Frantic TV, we take you on an exciting ride across the newly reopened bike path on the north side of the George Washington Bridge! After being long-shuttered, this path now features brand new ADA-compliant entrances on both ends of the 92-year-old span, connecting upper Manhattan and New Jersey.

The upgraded on-ramps give thousands of daily cyclists and walkers more space and a smoother route to the bridge itself. However, the shared path remains as narrow as it was before. The south outer path will close soon for similar renovations, expected to take four years.

This $1-billion revamp project, which started in 2017, includes replacing the bridge's suspender ropes for the first time. Work on the new on-ramp began around 2020. Join us as we explore the new plaza at the entry on W. 180th Street and Cabrini Boulevard in Washington Heights, leading onto the curving, two-thirds-of-a-mile long ramp.
