In both videos, I'm shooting my Glock 34 with Wolf steel case 115gr 9mm, going about 1,150FPS. In one video, I'm using the OEM 17# recoil spring, the other, a 13# aftermarket spring. Can you tell which is which?
I'd been pretty obsessed with recoil springs recently. The conclusion I've came to is this - spring weights are SUPPLEMENTAL to skill. Have a bad grip, and playing with recoil springs won't change anything.
Once you've got an effective grip down, I recommend playing with spring weights. The general idea (from my understanding) is that heavier slides need less weight, and lighter slides need more weight. To me, the spring weight is mostly personal preference of how you like your gun to recoil. That said, gamers shooting very light-loaded ammo, or running a compensator, will need a lighter spring for the gun to function.
