A state funeral is held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal for former prime minister Brian Mulroney, who died February 29 at the age of 84. He led the Progressive Conservatives to a majority government in 1984, winning again in 1988 before resigning as prime minister and party leader in 1993.
His daughter Caroline Mulroney, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, businessman Pierre Karl Péladeau, hockey icon Wayne Gretzky, and former Quebec premier Jean Charest deliver eulogies. The funeral follows a two-day lying-in-state in Ottawa and a two-day lying-in-repose in Montreal.
