What does the circadian rhythm do for my sleep?
Circadian Rhythm are the natural physical, mental and behavioral changes in our body that follow a 24 hour cycle.
Nearly every tissue and organ contains a biological clock.
It regulates our wake and sleep cycles by releasing crucial hormones at specific times of the day or night. (Think cortisol or melatonin)
The brain oversees the circadian rhythm but it is SUNLIGHT and DARKNESS hat our eyes perceive that signals to the brain when the cycle begins or ends.
Even daily short 10 minute walks in the morning and before sundown have relevance influence on our circadian rhythm, specifically sleep cycles.
The outdoor walks are what sleep doctors recommend as first line defense for insomnia.
How dedicated are you to 10 minute morning and evening walks if you know that your sleep can be helped by it?
