Frozen waterfall adventure here we come! Doug and I went hiking in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park to see a frozen waterfall first hand! We went to Spruce Flats Falls located in the Tremont section of the Smoky Mountains. It is accessed through Townsend and near Cades Cove. We hiked the trail and came upon an awesome sight! The waterfall was starting to melt but was still pretty frozen! We crossed over the ice covered rocks to get to the other side of the river to get a closer look. Someone fell in the icy water but I’m not telling you who! The Great Smoky Mountain National Park has so many awesome trails to hike that lead to some pretty incredible destinations. We can’t wait to have more hiking adventures here in Tennessee!
Once we made it to the frozen waterfall we set up camp so we could have a freeze dried food lunch experiment. We ate freeze dried hashbrowns, eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy that we cooked with our little MSR Windburner Stove System also just known as a backpacking / camping stove. It was a first time using this backpacking stove! It was nice not having to build a bush craft style fire this time around. Freeze Dried food isn’t so bad either!
What an adventure! So happy we get to share our frozen waterfall hiking adventure with you through our family vlog!
