This video was made for our TBI Voices project. We interviewed thirty real life survivors of brain injury. In these interviews we talked to the survivors about how they became brain injured and who they were before their brain injury. We also talk about their recovery and what deficits they have encountered because of their brain injury.
This interview is with brain injury survivor DJ. DJ suffered a brain injury while working to repair a bridge off the coast of Florida. The boat he was working from was being thrown around because of hurricane seas. He hit his head against a bridge abutment, several times.
DJ discusses using the internet to help others after traumatic brain injury.
Dj is helping people and they are helping him. He offers advise here for others who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.
