The postmortem report of the trainee doctor raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital revealed extensive injuries to her body, all inflicted before death.
The autopsy documented more than 14 injuries, found on the victim’s head, both cheeks, lips, nose, right jaw, chin, neck, left arm, shoulder, knee, and ankle, as well as inside her private parts.
Medical examiners determined the cause of death as "manual strangulation associated with smothering", and the manner of death as homicide.
