Government is making investments to improve the continuing care system, so older Nova Scotians receive the care they need, where they need it. A big part of doing this is hiring the staff needed and taking care of the dedicated people who work in continuing care.
Last winter, Nova Scotia announced funding to provide Continuing Care Assistants with a pay increase of up to 23 per cent. Here’s the story of one CCA who has worked in the sector for more than a decade. She went into the profession because she loves it and is happy to go to work each day. She says the raise has made her day-to-day life a little bit easier and that it’s made CCAs more at ease.
