Rain or shine, I ran the 2022 Shamrock Run in downtown Portland and had a great time, as always! There are several distances to choose from and I chose the 8k distance. I finished with a 8:03 minute mile pace and am VERY happy with that, I didn't train for this race at all. Finished 10th in my age group.

In fact, I felt so good that I'm going to try to beat my 8k PR that I set 8 years ago....at the Shamrock Run. My PR 8k pace is 6:54 and I'm going to train to see if I can beat that time. It won't be easy and I have a risk of injury. I'm going to strictly follow the Hal Higdon Run Faster method to hopefully achieve that goal!
