"On the Shoulders of Giants" was a program held the evening of February 18, 2012 to honor John Glenn and Scott Carpenter on the eve of the 50th anniversary of their Mercury flights. The event was staged at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, near the Rocket Garden.
In addition to Glenn and Carpenter, other speakers included U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) and KSC director Robert Cabana. The event was emceed by CNN correspondent John Zarrella.
