This is the result of the renovation of our old shed, which became a goat pen.
Tomorrow we will be welcoming our very first goats.
Although we live in a city, we do not want to give up on our dream of more sustainable life closer to nature. We always had veggies in our garden, but this year we got our allotments. Getting goats is yet another step.
I wanted to make the goat pen beautiful. It also had to be safe and clean for our baby goats. A simple and natural whitewash was all we needed.
Hydrated lime is made from limestone. It is a great natural disinfectant and insecticide, effective at killing bacteria and other pathogens.
So much of the natural solutions disappeared and were replaced by harmful chemicals. We strive to learn or re-learn the more eco friendly methods and share them with each other.
