This video is a demonstration of the JHS Overdrive Preamp Pedal. What happens when a normal person discovers a pedal no one knew existed? Probably nothing, but when Josh Scott does it he releases a production version of it to the world. This pedal is a recreation of one of the earliest DOD pedals, that predates the DOD 250 everyone thought came first.

Normally a why did I buy this pedal would be silly, the answer would be I thought the video would do well or I wanted it. With the JHS Overdrive / Preamp, I have a personal reason for wanting this pedal. This pedal is the end of a tone-about (like a walk-about but for guitarists).

In sound samples we are going to turn all, both, knobs on the JHS Overdrive / Preamp from 0 to 10. Then we're going to flip the switch and do it again.

In The Mix – how about some dirty blues with all the electric guitars run through the JHS Preamp / Overdrive.

Final Thoughts is where I give you my opinion. Because you know – you care about whether or not I like. It's not like 99% of you didn't turn the video off before this part anyway. And, if you didn't turn the TV off it's probably because you fell asleep during the In The Mix section.

Just give it a watch – you might learn something and laugh too.

The big question is does this pedal really sound like a vintage overdrive? Even if it doesn't do that is it still worth having?
