Do I want my lathe to continue running at 4000 rpm? Will 4000 rpm make it disintegrate? Lets face it with carbide tooling most jobs need as much speed as you can get. Anything non ferrous and under 25ø needs 4000 rpm if it is available. I this video, I use a free app on my ipad to look atr vibration in my lathe. I have no idea what all the figures quoted mean, but pictorially it looks not bad although 3000 is almost vibration free, as far as I can make sense of the results. If you know vibration and can give me some advice that would be great.
