Prague is an amazing mini break in the Czech Republic, perfect for a long weekend in Europe. There is so much to pack in so be prepared for a lot of walking and check out this video for loads of great things to see and do, sights and views and even a day trip to Karlštejn castle!

We explored Prague in early spring, under a cold snap meaning the temperature was below freezing for most of the time! This can be expected at certain times of the year but do not let it stop you from keeping moving, there is lots to see so you will be kept warm.

The historical city center is very accessible and full of interesting architecture and sights. From the old town square you can view art galleries, restaurants and the astronomical clock.

Take in one of the many walking tours to learn more about the history of the city including it’s bohemian past.

Walk from Charles Bridge into Lesser Town and view the Lennon Wall, and up to Prague Castle.

There is also Petrin Hill and Letna Hill, both offering amazing city scape views.

Also, art can be found around the city with various sculptures such as the Prague metronome, the Franz Kafka Rotating Head Statue, the Dancing House and more. See if you can also find the smallest street like we did!

If you have extra time, take a day trip to Karlštejn castle. We took the train and walked up to the entrance through the forested mountains and learned about life in ancient times for Charles 4th and how the castle was never taken under siege in battle! Very well preserved and would highly recommend if you have the time!
