Welcome to the first episode of Test Tuesday on this channel! Every week I'll be putting a different joinery product or tool through it's paces and today it's the turn of the expanding metal drywall hollow wall anchors. Screwfix refer to these as Easyfix Wall Anchors and Fischer refer to them as Metal Cavity Fixings. They may go by other names in different parts of the world. They're my go-to fixing of choice for attaching medium to heavy weight stuff on to plasterboard / drywall. Remember, always follow the manufacturer's recommended load ratings which generally incorporate a safety factor of at least 3 or 4. I'm just pushing these to their absolute limits to see what abuse they can handle!
