The Orfű lake system was built in the 1960s to create a holiday resort in the Pécs area where both beachgoers and fishermen can find their joy. In addition, there are several ethnographic sights and natural treasures next to these artificial lakes. At the beginning of every summer, the Fishing on Orfű music festival is held here, which usually features the best of the Hungarian alternative scene.
