Bosnian Serb military commander, Gen. Ratko Mladic, said on
Wednesday (26/7) that his forces had no immediate plans to attack
the Moslem enclave of Gorazde adding that America's decision to
lift the arms embargo would have little affect in an area already
flooded with weapons. Mladic made the comments during a rare
meeting with the international media in Zepa as civilians quietly
boarded buses to leave the fallen enclave. Reacting to the U.S. Senate's vote to lift the arms embargo Mladic said: "What we need here is wisdom, cool heads, weapons to quiet down. What we need to do is to sit down and agree on lasting and unconditional peace and then
discuss outstanding issues."
