Not sure if this is common knowledge or not but when I googled it I didn't find that many posts talking about it, so I figured I make a video on it.
You can cancel the weapon switch penalty by quickly switching to another weapon and then to the one you want to use. This works with the Gloves of Running Urgently as well.
