Lieder ohne Worte (Songs Without Words) is a series of short lyrical piano pieces by German composer Felix Mendelssohn (1809 - 1847), written between 1829 and 1845. The eight volumes of Lieder ohne Worte, each consisting of six "songs" (Lieder), were written at various points throughout Mendelssohn's life, and were published separately. I’ve previously recorded Venetian Gondola Song, Op. 30 No. 6, from Book 2 and Funeral March, Op. 62 No. 3, from Book 5.
This cheerful piece here is the fourth piece of Book 1 and is given the sub-title of Confidence.
