The cornea is the transparent, dome-shaped surface of the eye where light enters. It is a large part of the eye's ability to see clearly. A cornea transplant, or keratoplasty, is most often used to restore vision to a person with a damaged cornea causing vision loss. Demonstrated in this animation will be a complete full-thickness cornea transplant, also known as penetrating keratoplasty.
