• You can visit Almaty any time of the year.
• Best season to visit Almaty is June - September when it is full of lush greenery and the weather is very pleasant.
• If you are not afraid of cold and love to play in snow, then come here in December - February!
• Or, visit in October - November to witness Almaty covered in yellow coloured leaves. It is an amazing sight.

*How to travel in Almaty*
• Best and most convenient way is to travel by taxi. You can install Yandex Taxi app. It offers very reasonable prices and taxis are readily available.
• Public transport is very well developed in Almaty. Use 2GIS app to navigate in Almaty instead of Google Maps.
• You can pay via cash on buses/trams (150 Tenge per trip) or purchase a bus card from the airport (ONAY Card).
*Language Barrier*
Although the younger generation generally speaks English, you may occasionally find that people don't understand English. You can use Google Translate or Yandex Translate apps for easy communication. You can download the offline version of "English⇔Russian" dictionary in these apps.
*Local SIM Card:*
You can buy a local SIM near the exit gate of airport. They have stalls of Altel/Beeline/Kcell etc.
*Currency:*
Currency used in Kazakhstan is Tenge. Current exchange rate is 1 INR = 5.5 Tenge. Or 1 USD = 460 Tenge. It is suggested to bring USD from India and exchange for Tenge at the airport. You will get good rates.
